HYDRAFACIAL

GENTLE FACIAL REJUVENATION TO DEEPLY NOURISH AND HYDRATE YOUR COMPLEXION

A HydraFacial at Cross Medical Group’s Philadelphia and Villanova offices enhances your skin’s radiance with lasting and noticeable results through cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration. This skin resurfacing treatment restores, rejuvenates, and detoxifies skin.

HYDRAFACIAL BASICS

HydraFacials are multistep skin treatments that involve a combination of cleansing, exfoliation, pore extractions, and the infusion of nourishing, customized serums into the skin. This treatment is tailored to your specific skin anatomy and aesthetic goals.

COSMETIC CONCERNS THAT CAN BE TREATED WITH A HYDRAFACIAL

A HydraFacial is a highly versatile treatment that can address a range of skin concerns in one session, including everything from fine lines and wrinkles to uneven skin texture, acne, rosacea, minor skin discolorations, dull skin, oily skin, and congested pores. This treatment improves the overall texture, tone, and appearance of your skin. It is highly effective for removing the buildup of sebum and debris that may accumulate on the outer layer of the skin.

HOW A HYDRAFACIAL WORKS

Often referred to as hydradermabrasion, this skin resurfacing treatment is highly effective for removing dead or damaged skin cells, along with the sebum and debris that accumulate on top of the skin, while also clearing and improving the appearance of pores.

When dead skin cells are cleared away from the surface, a pathway is created to allow the active ingredients in skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin and work more effectively. This treatment also creates a smoother surface, helping with the even application of cosmetics. The patented vortex technology system of a HydraFacial provides a controlled and comfortable suction when applied to the treatment area to remove debris and oils from pores. At the end of this skin resurfacing treatment, patients will be able to see firsthand the dead skin and impurities that have been extracted from their pores, as they are collected in a clear cannister.

There are three stages:

  • Cleansing
  • Extraction
  • Hydration

You will need to avoid retinoids, retinols, and tretinoin creams for two weeks before your treatment. Patients do not experience side effects such as irritation or redness after this treatment and there is little to no downtime.

CANDIDATES FOR A HYDRAFACIAL

A HydraFacial is a gentle, well-tolerated, and versatile skin resurfacing treatment that can be beneficial for patients of all skin tones, skin types, and ages, at any time of the year. This treatment is especially beneficial for individuals who are prone to acne breakouts.

RESULTS FROM A HYDRAFACIAL

Many HydraFacial patients enjoy a post-procedure glow, deep hydration, and softness to their skin that last for a month or more, along with fewer breakouts. Right after this skin resurfacing treatment, you may notice that your blackheads are removed, your skin texture is improved, and your skin looks more radiant. Results continue to improve over a series of treatments. Monthly maintenance sessions can help to preserve the best results.

MORE SKIN REJUVENATION AND ENHANCEMENT OPTIONS

HydraFacials combine well with a variety of other equally effective non-surgical treatments. These other cosmetic treatments can further enhance the results of the treatment and provide more comprehensive skin rejuvenation. Combining procedures can often amplify the results of each approach.

Microneedling causes tiny needle marks in the top layer of skin that stimulate a healing response, leading to increased production of collagen and elastin. Chemical peels and dermaplaning are exfoliation treatments that remove dead skin from the surface and promote a more even skin tone. We provide several laser skin rejuvenation options that use a beam of energy to alter or remove the outer layer of skin, encouraging new cell growth and collagen production.

Wrinkle relaxers or neuromodulators such as BOTOX® are injectables that contain botulinum toxin as their active ingredient and temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, work by temporarily adding volume to improve the appearance of static wrinkles or enhance facial contours.

Microneedling and a HydraFacial can be a highly beneficial combination as you are able to enhance the skin from the inside out and outside in at the same time. A HydraFacial involves cleansing and exfoliation while microneedling goes deeper in the skin, encouraging the growth of healthy collagen.

The combination of a chemical peel and a HydraFacial works synergistically as the exfoliation from the latter skin resurfacing treatment allows for improved penetration of the chemical solution from a peel. Having a HydraFacial after dermaplaning – a procedure that removes dead skin on the outer layer – can be beneficial for patients hoping for a brighter, smoother complexion.

HydraFacials and laser skin rejuvenation work together to provide glowing skin. A HydraFacial can address many surface-level concerns while reducing impurities and exfoliating the skin, while laser treatments can get deeper in the skin to stimulate collagen and address underlying conditions.

Combining BOTOX® and a HydraFacial may be ideal for a patient who wants to achieve a more revitalized appearance. By boosting your skin’s radiance, the latter treatment complements the smoother, more youthful appearance that BOTOX® provides. Moreover, a HydraFacial can address other visible signs of aging and skin damage that cannot be corrected with BOTOX® alone.

Dermal fillers also pair well with a HydraFacial and this combination can be an effective technique for those hoping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Moreover, it can be a more comprehensive solution for patients who would like to restore a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance, while tackling multiple signs of aging. By deeply cleansing and exfoliating the skin, a HydraFacial provides a smoother surface for injectables such as dermal fillers and BOTOX®. The added hydration from this skin resurfacing treatment helps your skin maintain a plump and revitalized appearance after injectables.
