Restylane®
Volume-Adding, Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers for Facial Rejuvenation
Young skin is plump and smooth, thanks in large part to abundant levels of moisture-loving hyaluronic acid, as well as collagen molecules to provide structural support and facial fat that softens harsh angles. Aging, however, causes the skin to thin out and dry as healthy fat and beneficial molecules decrease. With Restylane® at the at the Philadelphia area's Cross Medical Group, patients can restore the lost volume and hyaluronic acid, regaining a firmer, smoother appearance.
The team of nurse injectors focuses on the techniques necessary to create safe, beautiful, and long-lasting cosmetic results. His team understands the unique qualities of Restylane®, using the filler on its own or with other non-surgical treatments to address age-related facial changes.

What Is Restylane®?
Since hyaluronic acid is a crucial element in smooth skin and youthful facial contours, the carbohydrate is used as a base for every filler in the Restylane® collection. This gives each product in the Restylane® family a particular ability to plump and hydrate the skin. In areas where loss of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and facial fat has caused contour changes or the development of folds and wrinkles, injecting the gel restores both volume and moisture.
The process used to make Restylane® creates flexible hyaluronic acid gels that fill in hollows or creases while still allowing for a natural range of facial expressions. Several of the fillers—including Restylane® and Lyft—are made with unique particle sizes to treat specific cosmetic needs.
Restylane®
Facial aging leads to the development of folds. For moderate to severe parentheses lines and other wrinkles, Restylane® replaces the skin's natural hyaluronic acid lost over time. This gives the area a smoother look. It can also be used to subtly enhance the lips by adding volume. It also does a wonderful job correcting vertical lip lines without changing the shape of the lips in any way.
Restylane® Defyne
Deeper facial wrinkles, such as laugh lines, require a gel designed with severe signs of aging in mind. The cross-linking process used to make Defyne results in a formula that reduces the appearance of nasolabial folds, while still allowing for facial movements that look natural.
Restylane® Refyne
Not every facial wrinkle is severe. For nasolabial folds and marionette lines that require more "refining" than correcting, Refyne is the ideal choice. The filler softens these creases for a more youthful-looking area around the mouth and nose.
Restylane® Kysse
As a lip filler in the Restylane® line, Kysse is intended for adding volume and creating a soft feel and look of fullness. This is ideal for patients whose lips have naturally developed as thin lines, as well as those whose lips have thinned as they have aged.
Restylane® Lyft
Loss of fat in the face transforms youthful cheeks into sunken or hollow areas, creating a gaunt look. Similarly, volume loss on the back of the hands can create a skeletal appearance as tendons and veins become more pronounced. Restylane® Lyft can counter these changes by restoring fullness to the cheeks—also serving to lift sagging skin lower on the face—and smoothing out the backs of the hands.
What Is the Restylane® Injection Process Like?
While each treatment session is unique, patients can expect an unwavering commitment to safety and beautiful, natural-looking results from every member of the Cross Medical Group team. The Team of talented and experienced nurses and aestheticians performs all injections at the Philadelphia and Villanova offices. Each has facial aesthetics experience and training, as well as specific experience with Restylane® fillers.
After an initial consultation to discuss cosmetic goals and appropriate treatment options, patients will work with their injector to address their particular concerns.
Restylane® injections are handled in the office. Treatment session details depend on which areas are being treated, but patients can generally expect the injections to take only minutes to administer. Patients will be able to see the effects of their treatment right away, though they should also expect some bruising at the injection site, as well as swelling and sensitivity. These will resolve on their own to reveal the smoother skin, new contours, and other benefits.
What Other Filler Options Are Available?
In order to accommodate the needs of a diverse array of patients, Cross Medical Group offers other dermal fillers at our offices, including the Juvederm® family.
In addition, patients can choose from several neuromodulators to smooth out motion-related wrinkles not addressed by fillers—BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin—as well as laser skin resurfacing for fine lines and wrinkles, RF skin treatments for skin tightening, and microneedling for tone and texture improvement.
