Rhinoplasty - Case 20

Surgeon : Kevin Cross

Details

This before and after illustrates what can be done to adjust the tip of the nose. Too often, rhinoplasty results focus only on the hump or bump of the nose. For many patients, the length and position of the tip is their primary concern. When a nose is "too long" or "hangs too low", it is often because the cartilages of the tip are not supported well enough. To correct this issue in this 38-year-old with otherwise very balanced facial features, Dr. Cross lifted the cartilages of the tip and supported them on the strong structural cartilages of the septum. These maneuvers add strength and precision to the repositioning and ensure a correction that should last her the rest of her life. Her tip now has a better position relative to the remainder of her features. Just as importantly, her tip doesn't plunge down when she smiles, and her upper lip looks less tethered and hidden by the nose.
