Rhinoplasty - Case 2
Surgeon : Dr. Kevin Cross
Details
This 24-year-old patient wanted, above all, a natural look. Her goals were to reduce the hump on the bridge of the nose, lift the tip, reduce the bulbousness of the tip, and to slightly correct the overly narrowed and pinched appearance to her upper nose. Preservation rhinoplasty techniques were used, meaning tissues that did not need work were gently elevated to do the work underneath, and then the untouched tissues were placed back down, creating less swelling and less bruising than traditional rhinoplasty procedures. While the patient still has some swelling that will resolve, she is only 5 weeks out and already looks and feels great! On the profile, there is a slight upward discrete transition from the bridge to the tip. This is known as “supratip break.” This should never be overdone, but a subtle transition helps to create an elegance to the nose.
