Eyelid Surgery - Case 8
Surgeon : Dr. Kevin Cross
Details
Youthful eyes are not hollow eyes. This patient is a great example of how important it is to maintain volume when rejuvenating the lower eyelids. Youthful eyes tend to be full and plush, and in younger people, it is hard to tell where the cheek ends and the eyelid begins. As we age, fat starts to bulge from under the lower eyelids, and just below the bulging fat, we lose volume. The eye "bag" with the hollow beneath it creates the appearance of agedness and tiredness. To treat this, Dr. Cross commonly takes fat from the area of bulging and moves it into the area of volume loss. This reduces the bags and fills in the hollows, recreating the fullness and plushness of youth. As you can see, after the procedure is performed, the lid/cheek junction is blended, and the eyes look more rested.
