Eyelid Surgery - Case 20

This patient illustrates one of the most important concepts of lower eyelid rejuvenation. Over time, her cheeks had dropped, and her lower lids had lengthened. As a result, she had developed very large “bags” under her eyes. To correct this, Dr. Cross moved fat from where it was bulging to the area where it was sunken. This technique takes fat from the areas where we don’t want it and puts that fat in the region where we do want it. Dr. Cross removed extra eyelid skin and replenished her facial volume by performing a fat transfer procedure. At two months out, she demonstrates “blending of the lid/cheek junction,” one of the most crucial components of youthful appearing eyes.
