Breast Augmentation - Case 7
Surgeon : Kevin Cross
Details
This 30-year-old patient presented with very challenging breast anatomy. She wanted to go from a C cup to a D cup or DD cup size, and also needed a significant lift. Furthermore, she wanted very full cleavage and shape in the upper part of her breasts. We used some of the most up-to-date techniques in breast augmentation and lift surgery to achieve these results. First, smooth, round 330cc silicone implants were placed in the appropriate position on her chest. Because her native tissues were so weak, to keep the implants supported and to help prevent sagging of the implants, an absorbable mesh called Galaflex HD was placed around the implants to act as a hammock, keeping the implants supported and in the correct position. When the mesh is resorbed, it will leave stronger native tissue in its place. We then performed a breast lift. Finally, a small amount of fat was taken from her flanks and sides. This fat was cleaned and purified, and then used to add native, natural volume at the junction between the implants and breast tissue to maximize the shape of her upper pole and cleavage. The final result is a composite breast augmentation with breast lift and mesh support for maximal lift and long-term results.
